KILIMANJARO NATIONAL PARK

Kilimanjaro national park is located near the town of Moshi. The park is located near Mount Kilimanjaro. Kilimanjaro is the highest free-standing mountain in Africa. The national park was established in 1973 and Mount Kilimanjaro itself was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1987. Kilimanjaro is surrounded by tropical rainforest. To reach the top there are 7 routes that lead to the top of Kilimanjaro. Elephants, monkeys and many bird species can be seen in this park. On the mountain, the local population grows food products in fields, but there are also villages and towns. The wetter tropical forest begins above these fields and villages. If you go even higher towards 2700 meters you will find many trees of 10 to 12 meters high. Because you are so high up, there are often clouds here and it is humid. The mountain has different climatic zones due to its height. For example, the tip of Kilimanjaro has ice all year round. At an incredible height of 5895 meters you will find the snow and ice-covered summit of the highest free-standing mountain in Africa. Don't get us wrong, climbing Kilimanjaro means climbing for several days in the wilderness at a considerable height, which of course also entails some risks. The safety and chance of success depend greatly on the experience of your guides. That's why we have the best guides with several years of experience climbing Kilimanjaro. For many of our guests, climbing Kilimanjaro is a “once in a life time” experience.
